The Challenge
Team Academy had built a reputation for delivering engaging, disruptive corporate training but was ready to elevate their brand. They wanted to appeal to blue-chip companies—businesses that value both professionalism and creative, impactful solutions. The challenge was twofold: craft a campaign that showcased their transformational approach to leadership development while achieving a high-end look without stretching the budget.
The Plan
The heart of Team Academy’s work lies in taking people out of their comfort zones—often outdoors—to foster real growth. We leaned into this signature style, using the stunning natural beauty of the Lake District as a backdrop.
Without a huge budget for extravagant locations, the Lake District provided everything we needed to evoke a premium feel. It's sweeping landscapes and serene lakes offered a cinematic quality that rivalled high-end commercial shoots, all without the costs associated with studio sets or rented venues.
Inspired by the visual intensity of army recruitment ads and the polish of executive training programs, we developed a narrative-driven concept. The story showcased the personal transformation Team Academy enables—turning managers into leaders who drive business success.
With a tight-knit crew of six, we shot the entire campaign in just one day, harnessing the Lake District’s natural light and grandeur to deliver a film that looked anything but low-budget.
The Results
The resulting TV-style campaign was a game-changer for Team Academy’s brand. Its cinematic visuals and compelling narrative captured the essence of their ethos, resonating deeply with blue-chip audiences.
As the centrepiece of their refreshed marketing strategy, the campaign has already paid dividends, helping Team Academy forge new partnerships with some of the UK’s largest brands.
Rachel Haslam, Managing Director, praised the process:
"Eight Engines are an absolutely fantastic organisation. Creative, professional, flexible. These guys are great to work with!"
