The Challenge
Hispec is a company with a lot to offer, from innovative products to an incredible team. But how do you communicate all of that in a single brand film that captures attention and builds trust?
They came to Eight Engines with a clear goal: to create a top-of-the-funnel brand film—the first touchpoint for potential customers. It needed to reflect its professional, premium, and approachable identity and cover a wide range of messaging. While the film had to feel polished, it also needed to be personal, showcasing their greatest asset: their team.
The challenge? Avoiding the “corporate video” trap and making sure the team looked and felt natural on screen, even without prior acting experience.
The Plan
At Eight Engines, we believe that “the medium is the message.” In today’s world, people instinctively recognise the quality of video production. To position Hispec as a premium brand, we chose to shoot the film on anamorphic cinema lenses—the kind used in blockbuster movies. This choice added a subtle but powerful cinematic quality, elevating perceptions of the brand.
Highlighting the team was vital, but instead of traditional interviews, which risk feeling staged, we focused on capturing authentic, unscripted moments of the staff in action. Years of experience working with non-professional actors taught us that creating a relaxed and fun set environment is key. When people feel comfortable, their personalities shine through naturally, and that’s exactly what we needed.
To tie everything together, we worked closely with Hispec to craft a script that reflected their story and values. We selected a voiceover artist with a warm Lancastrian tone, grounding the film in their regional heritage and emphasizing authenticity.
The Results
The two-day shoot at Hispec’s Chorley office was a resounding success. The final brand film combined stunning visuals, authentic storytelling, and a premium aesthetic to position Hispec as a leader in their industry.
