The Challenge

Aqueous Digital, a long-term partner, approached us during a pivotal rebrand from their previous tagline, “Search Never Sleeps,” to the more intentional “SEO Done Right.” This evolution signalled a strategic pivot aimed at attracting larger, more established clients—businesses capable of higher retainers, even household names. They no longer needed to educate clients about SEO; instead, they wanted to appeal to brands that already value SEO but seek a top-tier partner.

The project required a creative approach to deliver a high-end feel while managing costs effectively—a challenge that Eight Engines was more than ready to tackle.

The Plan

After pitching three concepts, Aqueous immediately connected with Do It Right. This idea portrayed a single character, a meticulous perfectionist, moving through their day ensuring every detail is flawless—a reflection of Aqueous’s approach to SEO as an art and science done with precision. With a limited budget, we designed the creative and production approach to achieve high production value through thoughtful choices:

  • Intentional Visual Design: Every visual detail supported the theme of perfectionism. We used symmetry throughout the scenes to create a sense of order and control, and each shot was art-directed for visual cohesion. The character’s attire was carefully chosen—bright and deliberate, conveying someone who takes pride in the details.
  • Efficient Production Setup: We filmed all scenes in a single location, a beautifully designed home in Cheshire, allowing us to capture five distinct scenes in one day. By focusing on one character in one setting, we were able to manage both time and budget constraints while creating a visually rich narrative.
  • High-Quality Equipment and Expertise: Eight Engines leveraged its extensive in-house gear, including broadcast-standard Sony FX9 cameras and high-end lighting, the same tools used on major productions. Our team, with experience on shows like Peaky Blinders, Broadchurch and Skins and films like Fast & Furious 6, brought the expertise needed to deliver a cinematic quality aligned with Aqueous’s premium image.

The Results

The final ad powerfully embodied Aqueous’s rebranded identity as a high-caliber, results-driven SEO partner, showcasing their “SEO Done Right” philosophy. Through intentional design, seamless visuals, and a cohesive narrative, we helped Aqueous elevate their brand perception and signal their expertise to a premium audience.
