Transport for Greater Manchester: Get on Board for Spring '23
KEY POINTS
- In support of TfGM’s ambitions to increase usership of their network, we produced a video campaign centred around the benefits of using public transport and active travel.
- The content featured four testimonies from actual users of the network.
- We captured photography assets alongside the shoot in order to provide an added benefit for little additional cost.
THE CHALLENGE
We were given a relatively tight budget and deadline to complete this project. It was also key for the content to be relatable and not rely on professional actors which may have resulted in a disingenuous tone.
THE PLAN
Our creative approach was to use real people, rather than actors, to provide interview-style testimonials about the role either public transport or active travel plays in their life. These interviews would then be supported with b-roll footage of the contributors in their worlds interacting with their respective forms of transport.
To ensure we met our tight deadlines and budget we broke the shoot into three days. This involved one studio day in which we shot all of the interviews, followed by two b-roll shoot days where we spent half a day with each contributor. This allowed us to generate the narrative from each interview before then sitting down and planning our b-roll sequences to match the content.
